Trauma and difficult experiences counselling

Build steadiness when past experiences still feel present

Paced, choice-centred support for adults affected by painful, frightening, or overwhelming experiences.

Service overview

What this can look like in everyday life.

Trauma can shape attention, relationships, sleep, self-trust, and the ways you protect yourself. Counselling can begin with the impact you notice now. You are not required to retell every detail, and the work can focus on steadiness, understanding, and present-day choices.

A consultation gives you room to ask how Jennifer works with difficult experiences and decide whether her experience, approach, and scope fit the support you are seeking.

This may fit if…

Some of this feels familiar.

  • Certain situations bring strong reactions that are hard to settle
  • You feel disconnected, watchful, numb, or unsure whom to trust
  • Past experiences affect closeness, conflict, or your sense of safety
  • You want support that gives you control over pace and disclosure

Sessions may explore

What Jennifer and you can work on together.

  • Recognizing triggers and protective responses
  • Developing grounding and ways to return to the present
  • Rebuilding self-trust and a sense of choice
  • Connecting past impact with current needs and relationships

Common questions

Useful details before you begin.

How do I know whether trauma support is the right starting point?

You do not need to be certain. Choose the page that feels closest to what is happening now. A free consultation gives you space to describe the situation, ask questions, and decide whether Jennifer's experience and approach fit your needs.

What happens in an online session?

You join from a private location in British Columbia. A 55-minute session follows the concern that feels most useful that day. You can slow down, ask questions, and adjust the focus or pace as the work develops.

How much does counselling cost?

A 15-minute consultation is free. Individual online counselling sessions are 55 minutes and $89 CAD. Payment is made by e-transfer after each session. Jennifer can provide an electronic receipt, and Jubilee Cares does not direct bill. Less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged the full fee, with circumstances considered case by case.

See whether the fit feels right

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment.
